Marathon Week
I have spent the last 18 weeks of my busy busy life training for a 26.2 mile run and it has been a lot more work than I could have anticipated. My husband has spent a lot of hours either biking alongside, running alongside, or watching the kids as I have completed mile after mile of training. My kids have been troopers doing stroller runs, bike rides, or waiting on mom to finish a run.
Having a full-time job, being a mom, wife, daughter, sister, etc. etc. has made it challenging to find the time to put it the miles, do the cross training, and fuel my body to support my training. It has been A LOT. I have enjoyed most of the journey while some of the journey has felt like a chore. I have been HUNGRY, TIRED, SORE but also JOYFUL, GRATEFUL, and PROUD. When negative thoughts would creep into my head, I pushed them out with gratitude and positive thinking. Being proud and appreciative of a body that is able to do this. This health is the dream of so many and I will not take it for granted.
So, for this 26.2 mile run that I have signed up for voluntarily :), I will spend my time being present by enjoying the scenery, the energy, and the feeling of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line is the ultimate goal so here we go!
